Leading manufacturer of polythene shrink and converter films, bpi.films has added to its range of high performance shrinkwrap. LiteWrap is a new collation shrink film that's lighter in nature but with some seriously heavyweight advantages.
Specifically LiteWrap benefits from downgauging technology. It draws on state-of-the-art polymers and advanced extrusion technology to offer all the performance and protection of conventional shrinkwrap but from a considerably thinner film profile.
From an environmental perspective, this thinner profile offers major benefits. It allows users to wrap loads with less by film volume which in turn creates less packaging waste by weight. Plus, this reduced waste can also be recycled as LiteWrap, like all shrinkwrap from bpi.films, is 100% recyclable.
Additional green benefits stem from the fact that LiteWrap's thinner profile allows bpi.films to wind more film onto a reel. More film per reel means a need
for fewer film deliveries, helping to reduce associated vehicle emissions.
This extra length of film per reel also contributes to some of LiteWrap's commercial advantages. More film per reel means the ability to wrap more loads with fewer stoppages for reel changes, maximising machine and operator output.
The need for fewer film deliveries also reduces associated administrative demands such as those involved in ordering film, in dealing with deliveries at goods inward and in processing related paperwork. This frees up time and resources to be employed on other higher value or more profitable activities.
Commenting on the launch of the new product, Mike Thackwray, Commercial Director at bpi.films, said: "As a business, bpi.films is committed to developing packaging solutions that are both commercially advantageous and environmentally sensitive. The recent introduction of LiteWrap to our product range is a reflection of how we're working to put that commitment into practice. We're sure it will be a popular choice with our customers."
