Abby Couriers win best environmental company and best staff training at Basildon business awards

Basildon-based Abby Couriers achieved a double top at the Basildon Business Awards on Friday night winning the Best Environmental Company Award and the Best Staff Training and Development Award.

Managing Director of Abby Couriers, Mark Giles, said: "At Abby Couriers we know that without the right people in place with the right skills and training our company does not give our customers the best possible service which is why we invest heavily in staff training and development.

"We have developed totally new NVQ qualifications for courier drivers and also employ apprentices through the Essex Apprenticeship Scheme which demonstrates our commitment to training and developing our staff to their maximum potential and beyond!

"That was recognised by the Basildon Business Award judges who gave us the Staff Training and Development award for the second consecutive year.

"Our company is also environmentally friendly in its working practices because that makes good business sense too.

"Low carbon practices at our Basildon Head Office and our depots across the country cut running costs and help the environment plus we are the only independent courier company using electric vehicles on regular delivery routes in London.

"That commitment to the environment was recognised with the judges awarding us the Best Environmental Company award too.

"We are very proud of this success, which has been achieved by our staff working together as a team, and will be proudly displaying the awards at our Head Office."

Founded in 1994 Abby Couriers is a family run firm with a Head Office in Luckyn Lane, Basildon – more details at www.abbycouriers.com
