Agility mobile application from NetDespatch creates manifests when scanning in parcels

NetDespatch has developed a smart mobile web service that allows manifests to be created dynamically when scanning-in parcels. Through the NetDespatch Agility mobile application, manifests are created on the fly as parcels are scanned on collection. These replace conventional pre-built manifests and ensure 100 per cent manifest accuracy eliminating discrepancies and improving delivery performance.

NetDespatch Agility has been developed primarily for managing courier and parcel deliveries and allows, for example, users to scan barcode labels, capture signatures and provide real-time proof of delivery (POD). Wirelessly connected to NetDespatch web servers, Agility provides live data for instant updating of consignment tracking websites.

"Agility illustrates how accessing the Internet from mobile devices can be used to revolutionise the way deliveries services are operated. Smart manifests created dynamically guarantee that parcels collected always match those on the manifest and this is just one example of the operational benefits of using the web on the move," says NetDespatch CEO Becky Clark.

Agility works with NetDespatch Velocity online booking and tracking, giving live access to the full range of NetDespatch web-hosted services and providing instant traceability via the web of all tracking stages.

Through a unique login ID assigned to Agility different users, the same device changes function depending on the requirement. Using the NetDespatch Software as a Service platform, the functionality of the device is determined simply by entering different login codes. This allows the application to be configured automatically for the role of the current user.

"Agility also allows the same mobile device to offer completely different functionality according to the login in ID so it becomes entirely customised for the person using it. In fact we see Agility as the commercial equivalent of the iPhone, allowing many different applications to run on a single device," comments Clark.
