Automated Material Handling Systems Association AMHSA pavilion announced for IMHX

The Automated Material Handling Systems Association (AMHSA) and IMHX 2010 organiser Quartz have revealed that the show will feature a special pavilion for automated handling system suppliers.

Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 16 – 19 November, the International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) is the undisputed leader in UK logistics events, ably demonstrated by the fact that exhibitor space at the show is over 70% sold already. With the event co-owned by BITA (British Industrial Truck Association), IMHX has always had a large core of support from the manual handling sector but the show has also attracted increasing numbers of automated handling exhibitors, as well as software providers and consultancy firms.

The AMHSA pavilion will feature a number of exhibitors in stands arranged around a central hospitality area. Explained Event Director, Rob Fisher, "We’re delighted to have created this special zone for AMHSA and its members. It highlights the fact that IMHX is very well supported by the UK’s automated handling sector, as well as underlining the comprehensive nature of the exhibits at the show."

Commenting on the tie-up, AMHSA President, Mike Vernon, said, "This is great news for AMHSA and provides us with a highly visible platform for automated handling within the UK’s premier materials handling exhibition."

AMHSA Secretary, Graham Watts, added, "This pavilion provides an unrivalled opportunity for automated handling suppliers who have not already signed up to IMHX to come on board in a very cost-effective way, as well as allowing larger automated firms to have a second presence at the show."

As the nation’s only comprehensive event in materials handling and storage, IMHX continues to enjoy support from across the UK’s trade associations. The show will feature not only materials handling equipment but also health and safety systems; software solutions; racking and shelving; storage systems; pallets and palletising equipment; property; recruitment and training services; third party logistics; transport and distribution; flooring; packaging; handling system design; financial services; and warehousing.

Another special feature at the 2010 exhibition will be the Environmental Zone, sponsored by Shell Gas (LPG). In this green-styled open lounge area, visitors will be able to offset their carbon footprint of travel to and from the show using web-based carbon calculators.

Toyota to sponsor VIP parking
The exclusive VIP valet parking service returns to IMHX in 2010, sponsored by Toyota Material Handling UK. VIPs will be able to drive directly to the hall door, from where their vehicle will be parked for them and returned to the door on leaving the exhibition, ensuring a totally hassle-free visitor experience. The VIP guests will also have access to the IMHX Premier Club Lounge, which offers complimentary refreshments and Internet facilities.
