Cartwright rentals sets sights on expansion of national network as division achieves record £20M annual turnover

The Rentals division of Cartwright has set its sights on expanding its national network of sites as it celebrates the news that it has achieved a milestone record annual turnover of over £20 million for the first time.

The Rentals division, which was formed in 2007, has established itself as a key part of the Cartwright business model in its seven years in operation.

It boasts a trailer fleet of over 5000, now one of the biggest in the UK and is planning to increase its trailer park whilst at the same time reducing the average age of the fleet in a strategically planned manner with the ultimate aim of full utilisation in the future.

Currently utilisation of the fleet is in excess of 90 percent and Cartwright Rental Sales Director Paul Burn is confident this can only improve as Cartwright’s brand awareness continues to increase.

Phil Rodman Cartwright Rentals Managing Director commented: “We are delighted that the Rentals division has achieved a £20 million turnover in the last financial year, which is a milestone for the operation when taking into account its short seven year history.

“Our sights, however, are set on building the Rentals side of the business even further with expansion of our national network of Rentals sites a priority,” he said.

Cartwright is currently looking for new strategically located sites in the north and south, around the M62 corridor Leeds/Barnsley area and in the Home Counties.

Currently Cartwright Rentals has sites in Altrincham, Wythenshaw, Bruntingthorpe, Northampton, Newport, Avonmouth and Glasgow.

Phil Rodman added: “We will be investing further in the fleet as well as seeking to increase the network of sites.

“Furthermore we will be expanding the fleet of XL and L bodied curtainsiders. We currently have nearly 1,000 and we see this as a key market.

“We are looking ahead to further growth in the current financial year as the trend of some customers preferring to rent before they buy new trailers continues. It is still a price sensitive market, but our competitive pricing combined with quality rental products is maintaining our position ahead of the competition.”
