This presentation will describe an ongoing stream of research being led by ITS which looks at the development and potential for radical changes to our urban transport characteristics to promote more sustainable transport futures. The focus of the discussion will particularly consider the potential for a much enhanced role for walking and cycling as transport modes in the urban context.
