ConstructCLEAR from BlueWise new online tool to assist construction and waste management companies

A new product designed to revolutionise the way the construction and waste management market interact and trade was successfully launched on 1st December 2010.

ConstructCLEAR is a new online tool created by BlueWise Limited and part-funded by RENEW, designed to assist both the construction and waste management sectors by streamlining and integrating the process of site waste management planning, carbon reporting, waste management procurement and regulatory compliance. The product is the first of its kind in the marketplace and will have a significant impact upon both industries.

George Dobson from BlueWise Limited said: "By investing in ConstructCLEAR, companies can reduce their carbon footprint as well as their costs, it’s a fantastic way for companies to take control of their projects and help shape and sustain a greener future as well as raise their environmental profile. Construction sector clients are increasingly requiring projects to both account for and reduce their carbon impact"

"ConstructCLEAR’s user-friendly system simplifies the production of Site Waste Management Plans, enables easy development of carbon footprints, and helps the construction sector to better identify opportunities to reduce waste and manage resources more sustainably across the whole construction team. Also the simple to use online system also provides a cost effective solution to waste management procurement."

ConstructCLEAR Waste Manager provides cost saving benefits to the waste management sector by allowing easy online access to new waste tender opportunities, to waste planning information direct from SWMP’s as well as reducing waste tender administration costs. Waste manager users will also be able to select the work package that they wish to tender for, have access to the timescales for waste services, and report waste information directly.

The project has been part-funded by RENEW, the North East organisation tasked with facilitating and delivering commercial energy and environmental technology projects across the region. The funding provided by RENEW has enabled the tool to be available free for use by the construction industry on individual projects using the Basic level of the tool.

John Barton, Project Director of RENEW says; "We are delighted to have been involved in the development of ConstructCLEAR, as we believe its practical and innovative approach to helping construction projects reduce carbon and waste is an important aspect of dealing with the environment and climate change challenges we will increasingly face.

"In addition, improving the resource efficiency of projects, reducing costs and streamlining the procurement of waste services are of particular importance in today’s economic climate."

Through its work, RENEW is ensuring the region is at the forefront of the UK’s low carbon and sustainable energy drive and is making a significant contribution to the economy bringing investment, jobs and growth to the region.

Working with businesses, communities, investors, regulators and technology suppliers RENEW help low carbon energy and environmental technology projects make the transition from development to the market place. Additionally, it provides strategic support to a diverse range of businesses looking to maximise the economic opportunities and carbon reductions from the applications of these projects.
