Contact forklift truck attachments introduce new towable salt spreader

One of the UK’s leading material handling firms has launched a new product to help companies cope with the winter freeze.

Contact Attachments, based in Mid Wales, has designed and manufactured the Ice Master Towable Salt Spreader, an axle-driven piece of equipment that can be towed behind a forklift truck.

Jason Cadman, Technical Sales Consultant at Contact Attachments, said: "The Ice Master can spread salt over a distance of up to 14 metres and can be easily attached to any forklift with a standard ball hitch or towing pin."

The towable spreader has a volume of 190 litres and includes an adjustable draw bar giving the user a choice of three different height settings.

"As the spreader is mechanically driven using pneumatic tyres, rather than requiring an electrical or auxiliary connection, it is really quick and easy to set up," Jason continued. "It also includes an agitator to ensure that salt keeps flowing, and the hopper is fully sealed from the inside, meaning it is capable of operating in even the harshest conditions."

"With many forecasters predicting another prolonged cold snap over the next few months, the Ice Master has been launched just in time," Jason concluded.

Contact Attachments has been designing and manufacturing forklift truck attachments from its base in Newtown, Mid Wales, for over 40 years and is recognised as the quality leader of truck attachments in the UK.
