Dale Brothers grows bigger and bigger with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, taking a further 10 new DAF tractor units

Dale Brothers UK Ltd, the Shropshire-based specialist in temperature controlled transport, has added 10 new DAF tractor units to its fleet that will be used for pulling 13.6m single and multi-temperature refrigerated trailers. The vehicles are being provided through Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, which has been a long-term partner to the business.

Five of the new DAF tractor units are standard DAF XF105 Space Cab models that will predominantly be used for existing UK distribution contracts. However, for the first time, Dale Brothers has added five larger DAF XF106 Super Space Cab tractor units that are specifically operating on a new contract that involves return journeys in Europe.

The flexibility of being able to increase or decrease the size of its fleet is one of the key reasons why Dale Brothers has created a long standing partnership with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent.

Dale BrothersEnterprise is the principal supplier of tractor units within the company’s 65-strong refrigerated distribution fleet. Currently, more than 40 of the 65 tractor units in the Dale Brothers all-refrigerated fleet have been supplied by Enterprise Flex-E-Rent.

Commenting on the move to adding larger Super Space Cab DAF tractor units to its fleet, Neyland Dale, Director at Dale Brothers UK Ltd said, “We upgraded the tractor unit specification for our drivers with the increase in our European work, as the journeys require them to be away from home for much longer periods.“

“As we have come to expect from Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, sourcing tractors for this new 10 vehicle deal was simple and straightforward. Not only was it very competitive, but also the deal gives us a fixed cost basis for running our fleet, with the option to off-hire and re-hire, if necessary. And, of course, we know from practical experience over the years that the service support is extremely good.”

Supplied through its local Enterprise Flex-E-Rent branch in Telford, Dale Brothers expects that these new tractor units will cover in excess of 150,000kms each per annum over an anticipated working life of three years. They are being used to carry salads, fruits, meats and frozen food from manufacturers to distributors in the UK and Europe.

“Our relationship with Dale Brothers is a classic example of how well two companies can work together over a long period of time. We pride ourselves on the close working relationships that we build with our customers. We have worked very closely with Dale Brothers to help the business introduce new specification tractor units and further enhance their modern distribution fleet,” said Danny Glynn, managing director at Enterprise Flex-E-Rent.
