Independent waste management firm, Premier, appoints Kevin Hawkes

The region’s largest independent waste management firm has recruited Kevin Hawkes as its new commercial operations manager.

With over 21 years experience in the waste business, including waste regulation, operational and commercial roles Kevin will lead the team working within Durham based Premier Waste Management’s Recycling Treatment and Disposal Division, and will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the division such as improving existing business and securing new commercial contracts.

Kevin from Easington Village, will also help to increase recycling for Premier’s local authority clients and business customers and divert even more waste from landfill.

Kevin said: "I am really excited about the role. It is a great opportunity to work with existing clients, but also to help further grow the business. There are some very significant local authority opportunities in the region, which I am keen to develop.

"I’m extremely passionate about the waste industry and know the value of recycling. We are working to make recycling even easier and to expand the number of material types we can recycle. The role provides an opportunity to impart my knowledge and experiences within this business."

Ashley Cooper, managing director for Premier’s Disposal Division, said: "We are pleased to welcome Kevin to the team. As we continue to expand and improve the efficiency of our recycling and disposal facilities, Kevin’s skill set, as well as his commitment to the firm and his clients will ensure he is a great asset to Premier’s North East team."
