Infrastructure design and implementation expert joins LCP Consulting

LCP Consulting, the leading specialist in customer-driven supply chain and business operations consultancy, has appointed Roger Platt as Principal Consultant in its manufacturing and retail logistics teams.

After working in various engineering roles, Platt started his career in logistics engineering with Jungheinrich in 1981, moving to Argos in 1991, where he was responsible for the design, procurement and the project management of MHE systems. After five years in logistics consultancy he joined Ocado while they were in start-up phase, and built the project engineering team to deliver a range of MHE systems at the company’s Hatfield Customer Fulfilment Centre.

More recently, Platt spent over seven years as Head of Logistics, Capital and Infrastructure at Marks and Spencer Ltd where he developed a large multifunctional team with a responsibility for analysis, process design, MHE conceptual design, contract management, engineering and building fit outs.

LCP clients include global foodservice manufacturers, the UK’s largest retailer, and six of the top ten UK retailers. LCP’s retail practice has doubled in size since 2014, and its rapid growth has led to a number of strategic appointments to build on its capabilities and experience at both ends of the supply chain – ensuring clients receive a market leading end-to-end solution.

John Lockton, Managing Director, LCP Consulting said:

“Retail has been a significant growth area for LCP over the last three to four years, and the appointment of Roger will not only bolster our capabilities in the retail logistics space, but his vast experience in delivering large scale MHE programmes for leading retailers will be of great benefit to all of our clients.”
