Leading training provider RTITB updates fleet at Instructor Academy

Leading logistics instructor training provider, The RTITB Academy, has invested in two MAN tractor units for its training academy in Telford, Shropshire. The organisation sees the new equipment as an active investment into the local economy through enhanced driver and instructor training and business opportunities.

As well as delivering its own range of instructor and LGV driver training courses, the RTITB Academy works with employers to develop courses that meet their particular requirements or address a specific need. This helps to ensure the realisation of the benefits that can be brought about by modest investment in training.

The RTITB Academy instructor training range includes LGV and forklift truck instructor training and courses for banksman and yardshunters.

The Telford training academy already has a fleet of LGVs and forklift trucks for training purposes and the new lorries will help RTITB to provide even more training plus a wider range of familiarity training specific to the new vehicles.

“As a local business, we aim to invest in the local economy and have high targets for the amount of training and the quality of training we provide,” says Laura Nelson, Operations Director, RTITB. “We strive to provide quality services as well as succeeding as a business through contributions to the local and wider communities. The two new tractor units will help us continue to provide top quality training.”

One of RTITB’s main principles is safety and the company has high standards to adhere to, in order to ensure staff, trainee and operator safety.

“We regularly update our fleet at the RTITB instructor academy so that vehicles are new and meet with certain maintenance and safety standards,” says Laura Nelson.

The new tractors units are from the manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus, one of the leading international suppliers of commercial vehicles and transport solutions. MAN provides trucks, buses and coaches, diesel and natural gas engines plus support and financial services for customers dealing with MAN.

RTITB (formerly the Road Transport Industry Training Board) has been providing high quality training in the transport, warehousing and logistics industries for over 40 years. The company provides businesses and individuals with the knowledge and experience to provide their own training. RTITB provides courses and training to over 130,000 operators and instructors in the industry every year.
