Following hot on the heels of its META partnership announcement, LINPAC Storage Systems has already installed over 21,000 of its pre galvanised boltless META shelves into a warehouse in the Berkshire area.
Measuring more than 7,000 sq m, this large warehouse is the property of a major UK distributor of multi-media products. There are over 13 miles of META shelving which is destined to be filled with a wide range of media products, which will eventually be distributed to customers across the UK.
"Winning this contract so soon after signing our partnership agreement with the META company has been vitally important for LINPAC Storage Systems," comments David Sheppard, general manager of the company. "It immediately underlines the impact that this innovative shelving range is having on the market.
"The reason for its instant success is that META shelving is not only a quality engineered product, it’s also cost effective and available from stock to meet short leadtimes. In spite of the size of this order we were able to deliver the shelving on site within 5 weeks of winning the contract.
"In addition, because assembly is a fast build, boltless exercise, it only took a further 4 weeks to complete the installation."
This large-scale storage system has been tailor made to maximise the available floor space and minimise labour. The 3,500 bays of shelving are equipped with a range of bay elevations to suit storage of multi-media products. The shelves are also supplied with pre galvanised steel cladding.
Sheppard again, "A key feature of the client’s decision to move forward with LINPAC Storage Systems was that the META shelving requires no back bracing. This increases the versatility of the system and enables double-sided access."
The strength of the META shelving allows it to be built into a multi-tier structure, making storage systems such as this one futureproof. The client’s facility has a high elevation, so, as the business expands an upper tier of shelving can simply be built on top of the existing ground floor system.
