Norbert Dentressangle, the leading European logistics and transport company, has opened a strategic new distribution centre in Hounslow, West London, to enhance network coverage across the South of England.
At almost 50,000 sq ft (4,650 sq m), the facility, which went live on August 10th, provides the Transport Services side of the company with a significant expansion of its service capability throughout the region.
Located within the Green Lane Cargo Centre at Fairway Trading Estate, Norbert Dentressangle is making a significant investment in ing the former British Airways Cargo building into a high-quality, modern distribution centre.
The facility provides a direct connection into the company’s UK and international network with the capacity to handle future expansion in addition to current customer needs. It is just 14 miles from Central London, within five minutes drive of Heathrow Airport and has excellent links to the M4 (J3) and the M25 (J13).
It will feature the latest ‘state-of-the-art’ warehouse management system to constantly monitor and update stock levels to ensure maximum efficiency and maintain the company’s reputation for delivery accuracy.
The secure site will operate on a 24-hour, five day-a-week basis and run a mixed fleet of delivery vehicles to create a hub with easy access to Europe.
Around 70 new jobs, from drivers and warehouse operatives to traffic operators and administration staff, will be created at the site once it is fully operational.
"The new Hounslow site further strengthens our operations and reinforces Norbert Dentressangle’s commitment to support customers," says Stuart Lloyd, Sales and Marketing Director at Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services. "It enables us to more effectively support the requirements of our current customers and to target new business, particularly from the London area."
