Norbert Dentressangle transport and logistics sign distribution contract with Ford Motor Company

Leading global automotive manufacturer, The Ford Motor Company, has signed a multi million pound, two-year contract extension with Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services for the distribution of its aftersales parts to its 300 UK dealers.

Norbert Dentressangle has provided Ford with aftersales parts distribution for over 20 years. Its significant sector experience, in-depth knowledge of the automotive industry and high service levels have all been key factors in retaining the contract.

Chris Conway, Ford’s Manager Traffic & Customs, commented: "We had no hesitation in renewing our distribution contract with Norbert Dentressangle as the service we receive is excellent.

"The company always goes that extra mile and regularly develops new solutions to ensure our parts distribution operation remains highly efficient and cost effective."

The operation involves Norbert Dentressangle collecting orders from Ford’s Daventry site for onward delivery directly to the dealerships overnight through its national shared-user network. This ensures parts ordered by the dealers up to 6pm are delivered before the dealers open at 8am.

Using the Norbert Dentressangle transportation management system miSHARP and the Ford part number tracking system DEALIS, Ford’s consignments are tracked by bar code throughout the whole process, providing real-time information, proof of delivery and data to measure against agreed KPIs.
