Onward Holdings offers the perfect logistics package

Companies such as packaging firms looking for a prime location to establish a logistics hub in the North of England should contact Onward Holdings Ltd, which has released a further two plots of land for further West Yorkshire warehousing.

The move follows on from the successful letting of phase one at Green Lane Industrial Estate at Featherstone, enabling Onward Holdings to progress with phase two. This latest development comprises an exciting design and build opportunity for any packaging business wishing to move or expand in this highly sought-after business location.

Currently Onward Holdings has two plots available. Plot 4 comprises a 1.6 acre site to accommodate a 25,000 square feet warehouse and the 4 acre Plot 5 is capable of supporting a 75,000 square feet which can be up to 12m eaves height. Both plots can provide good-sized yards, excellent loading facilities and will benefit from state-of-the-art security systems already installed nearby.

Green Lane Industrial estate offers companies great geographical positioning with the M62 junction 31 less than three miles away and other major transport connections include the M1 and A1M, northern container ports and Doncaster airport all at close proximity. The railway freight network via the Wakefield Europort is also nearby to make light work of the distribution of goods across a variety of sectors.

Onward Holdings has already successfully let the phase one units at its Featherstone location and believes that with predicted shortage of large warehouse space in Yorkshire due to the rapid rise of on-line retailers this site will provide an ideal solution for businesses wishing to service the north of England. This is because a significant proportion of this UK warehousing is currently centred on the West Midlands, but with the move towards same day delivery in certain parts of the UK there is now increased demand for additional sites in the North.

Onward Holdings believes that its Featherstone plots will bring major benefits to packaging or fulfilment firms looking for northern warehousing, because Featherstone which allows access to around 80% of the UK’s population is within four hours. Packaging companies may also reap some cost benefits because through collaborating with other firms in the sector already located close by.

Neil Storey, managing director of Onward Holdings, said: “We have the perfect parcels of land available for those involved in packaging, warehousing, distribution, retailing and light manufacturing. Enquiries are already flowing in from interested companies including a number of packaging firms.”

Family-run business Onward Holdings specialises in operating highly competitively priced industrial warehousing and retail parks in the North of England. Its other warehousing sites include nearby Castleford, Doncaster, Ackworth and Scunthorpe as well as the very busy Onyx Retail Park at Wath upon Dearne.
