An innovative Coventry company is spearheading a drive to help the field service market operate more efficiently.
Parts and equipment distribution specialists ByBox has launched its Technical Courier service to help companies repair and replace broken machinery more cost-effectively and to further enhance the range of innovative services it offers its customers.
While there remains a demand for high-end engineering, many companies are finding it harder to justify having an engineer sent out to their premises to solve a specific problem.
ByBox’s Technical Courier solution is aimed at providing a complete solution including the outsourcing of an engineer and stock optimisation, helping companies reduce and recover costs spent on emergency jobs.
The system helps reduce stock holding in warehouses, increases working capital and reduces the amount spent on "new-buy" stock. It also guarantees a 36-hour repair service while increasing productivity and reducing the number of steps in the supply chain.
Experts at ByBox said the service will provide companies with a more fluid repair solution than using different suppliers at different stages of the process.
Stuart Miller, Chief Executive of ByBox, said: "Costs for companies are always important and are becoming even more of a priority during the recession. When machinery breaks down, it is imperative that businesses get up and running again as quickly and cost-effectively as possible and that is precisely where Technical Courier can help.
"Rather than companies adopting a fragmented approach to solving problems by using several different suppliers, Technical Courier effectively provides a one-stop-shop for all of their needs."
ByBox currently holds 70 per cent of the field service market which it services through its national network of 18,000 drop boxes at 1,300 locations. It has more than 90 customers including Coca Cola, Fujitsu, KonicaMinolta, Computacenter, GlaxosSmithkline and Siemens.
Stuart Miller added: "Technical Courier further endorses ByBox’s strong tradition of innovation I am confident it will help many companies operate cost-effectively through these challenging economic times and beyond."
