KP Industries managing director Phil Cornell is predicting a bright future for his company after he picked up a coveted national award.
The boss was chosen by his peers from the Academy for Chief Executives to be the Member of the Year for the first time since he joined the organisation.
The Academy for Chief Executives is an organisation of more than CEOs who all share something in common other than business leadership: they’re all passionate about helping others share their success.
KPI was founded in 2003 by Phil to provide a complete service for the automation industry, specialising in supplying automated handling conveyors and special materials handling equipment to an increasingly competitive market.
The company is experienced and has personnel with a wealth of design, manufacture and technical expertise to provide services across the industry, operating from its Rochdale factory headquarters.
Despite uncertainty in the global economy, the manufacturing business has managed to hold its own in a competitive market, with KPI working with some of the biggest names in the automotive and transport industry, including the blue-ribbon brands of JCB, Jaguar and Bentley.
Phil said: “Winning the Academy member of the Year Award is especially pleasing knowing the great business men and women that form part of the organisation. The fact it is voted by your peers adds greater recognition to the award.
“KPI works in an environment where all our employees have a focus on making the business a success, not only for the business but for our customers because without them there would be no KPI. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the relatively short amount of time we have been operating and even through the toughest global recession we have managed to mix it with the larger companies.”
Earlier this year KP Industries purchased warehouse conversion specialists FM Nicholson which is forming part of the company’s growth over the next five years. Nicholson offer complete pallet racking systems; design and install mezzanine floors from small, single-storey units to large, complex multi-tiered installations and offer a partition service for offices of all sizes, including trade counters.
Phil added: “We have plans to grow the company following the purchase of Nicholson and we see this as a strategic step forward in our plans. We operate in a very difficult economic market at present but we feel with the systems and investments made over the last few years we have the tools to prosper.
“It’s always great to be recognised by your peers who work in the same industry but to receive an accolade by the people in a business organisation is equally pleasing. I am proud of a lot of what KPI has achieved since I founded the company and winning projects from the likes of JCB shows just how far the business has come.
“I look forward to building on this success in the years to come.”
