Stertil Stokvis has helped Body Shop reduce energy costs with the installation of three of its high-performance industrial doors. The doors were specified for Body Shop’s Littlehampton warehouses to cut energy loss caused by high traffic between two of the warehouse units.
Body Shop, which is well-known for its environmental values, was concerned about the amount of energy loss through a main route between two separate warehouses. The windy coastal location of the site meant the high-usage openings were a major source of energy wastage and Stertil Stokvis was approached to provide a solution.
Stertil Stokvis recommended its RapidRoll high-speed doors which are designed for high-traffic areas. The 600 model, which was installed at Body Shop, is a top-of-the-range door available in larger sizes up to 32m² maximum door area. In common with all RapidRoll models, the 600 features a modular design that allows it to be custom-configured for a variety of applications. The high wind-resistance of the 600 (Class 3 – EN12424) makes it particularly suitable for demanding environments.
Stertil Stokvis RapidRoll doors will operate reliably and intensively, many times a day, making them ideal for high-traffic areas. Their speed of operation allows frequent use whilst minimising door-open time. This, in turn, keeps heat loss to a minimum, reducing energy costs and giving short payback periods, which can be as little as 12 months.
"With frequent fork truck use between the two warehouses, the energy loss from doors was quite significant," explains Andy Georgiou of Stertil Stokvis. "But now that Body Shop has installed our high-speed doors, they are able to keep heat loss to an absolute minimum, which not only reduces costs but is also in line with Body Shop’s values as a company."
