RCS Logistics distribution and pallet deliveries secure ISO 9001 accreditation

A FAMILY-OWNED haulage business has earned a worldwide standard for its commitment to quality service.

RCS Logistics in Corby, Northamptonshire, has secured the ISO 9001 accreditation which recognises organisations with a ‘quality management system’.

To achieve the accreditation the firm, which is a member of Palletforce – the UK’s leading palletised distribution network – had to meet strict requirements regarding its ability to ensure and improve upon the quality of its products and services.

Stephen Gray, Commercial Director, said: "We are delighted to announce that following the extensive audit of our operations, we have achieved the highly acclaimed ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification for Logistics and Warehousing.

"A milestone in its own right, achieving ISO 9001 accreditation is the first stage of a continuous and rigorous assessment and audit process that ensures RCS Logistics provide the best possible service to our customers."

RCS Logistics was set up in 1973 by Ray C Smith as an independent, family-owned business and is now run by his son Simon Smith.

The company operates a fleet of more than 50 vehicles and counts some of the UK’s largest retailers – including Avon, ASDA and Sainsbury’s – as customers.

Gary Clark, ISO Manager at RCS Logistics, said: "It stands as an unbiased recognition of RCS Logistics excellence in providing our customers with quality services that we’ve achieved this status.

"RCS have invested heavily in technology and training over the past few years to ensure we meet and exceed our customers’ expectations."

Michael Conroy, Chief Executive of Palletforce, said: "Achieving an internationally-recognised industry standard is a testament to the hard work and professionalism of staff at RCS Logistics. We are proud to have them as a valued member of our network."
