Requests for a range of tough machine components to combat the harsh environmental conditions often encountered in wet and washdown applications have now been answered, following the development and improvement of stainless steel products from SMC, the worldwide leading experts in pneumatics.
SMC´s stainless steel range now includes series CJ5-S and CG5-S air operated cylinders which are ideal for food processing machine applications where the need for corrosion and heat resistance is often essential.
Available in bore sizes between 10mm to 100mm and featuring all-stainless steel external construction, these cylinders are fitted with a special scraper to prevent water from entering the cylinder, and can be used in conjunction with SMC´s water-resistant auto-switch ranges – Series D-H7BAL and D-G5BAL respectively.
For complete cylinder control, SMC´s unique stainless steel speed controller with one-touch fittings – Series ASG, is designed for ambient operating fluids between -5ºC to 60ºC, and operating pressure from 0.1 MPa to 1MPa. Series ASG uses a special FKM seal material in its construction which meets all current food sanitation laws, making it ideal for use in food processing and preparation applications.
There are also two newly improved stainless steel fittings ranges – Series KQG2 and KFG2. Based on SMC´s successful KQG Series, the newly improved and extended KQG2 one-touch fittings are now around 30% smaller and over 60% lighter than conventional models and the comprehensive 17 model options are all designed to operate with fluids between -5ºC to 150ºC.
The insert fitting type Series KFG2, which is designed to operate with fluid temperature of -65ºC to 260ºC, is now over 40% smaller and nearly 40% lighter than conventional models has also been extended to 9 model options providing even greater installation flexibility.
And finally, to complete SMC´s line-up of related stainless steel products they can also supply an air operated high purity chemical valve – Series LVA, a direct operated 2 port solenoid valve range – Series VX2, a digital flow switch for water – Series PF2W, a pressure sensor for general fluids – Series PSE560, a clean gas filter – Series SF, a clean regulator – Series SRH and a range of S-couplers – Series KKA.
