Burnley-based CoolKit has appointed its first authorised distributor in continental Europe for its full range of refrigerated vans, van conversions and associated products.
Netherlands-based ClimaRunners, a specialist temperature controlled converter, building a range of vehicles including Iveco, Mercedes, Fiat, Volkswagen and more, has been appointed as an authorised distributor of Coolkit products in the Benelux region – Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
In authorising ClimaRunners as a distributor, CoolKit provided onsite training and product awareness for ClimaRunners personnel at its Burnley facilities and also sent an engineer to the Netherlands to carry out installation training and quality assessment.
CoolKit managing director Rupert Gatty said: “The appointment of our first authorised dealer in continental Europe for our full range of products is a major milestone in our planned expansion into international markets. We look forward to working with ClimaRunners, who will be supplying our refrigerated van conversions and associated products in the Benelux region.”
CoolKit is expanding rapidly having enjoyed record sales in the last few years. Having doubled the size of its facilities in 2015 and invested heavily in new manufacturing equipment to help meet increased demand, the company now employs over 70 people, supplying a full range of refrigerated vans, van conversions and associated products including its own range of vehicle lining kits and mobile aftersales support engineers.
CoolKit sales executive Mark Beaton said: “We are looking forward to working with ClimaRunners in order to sell our products in the Benelux region, where they already have a substantial operation.
“The relationship was established initially as Coolkit designed and developed a very specialist and bespoke build for ClimaRunners’ customer Ciso Transport, building a vehicle capable of carrying six pallets, with maximum internal width and height which also had a sleeper cab. The specification requested risked compromising thermal efficiency and brought about a number of challenges which all were overcome with a new product and some specialist development works by CoolKit. Ultimately the customers’ requirements were delivered with an ATP certification also being achieved.”
