Nine brand new Iveco Daily 35C15s, seven of which have been fitted with Fassi cranes, were recently delivered by Fassi Gru Milano to Massucco T., which in turn is leasing them on a long-term basis to Amiacque, the operational arm of the CAP Group, which manages the integrated water supply for the Milan metropolitan area and for a number of municipalities in the provinces of Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Varese and Como, reaching over two million clients, including private citizens, companies and public and private administration.

Four vehicles have been fitted with a fixed bed, stabilisers and a Fassi F32A.0.23 crane mounted towards the rear of the vehicle. The cranes are fitted with a V5 hydraulic winch and Radio Remote Control. The particular positioning of the cranes on the vehicles was done to allow for a complete range of movement in operations involving the laying of sunken well columns. These are vehicles supplied principally for expansion works on the water supply system.

The other three Iveco Daily trucks, again with fixed beds, have instead been fitted with Fassi F40B.0.23 cranes with Radio Remote Control, located behind the truck cabin. In this case, the vehicles will be mainly used for maintenance, including the transportation, loading and unloading of pumps and other equipment necessary to the work at hand.

“This supply follows another one from a few years ago, confirming Amiacque’s satisfaction with Fassi cranes”, explains Mauro Moschi of Fassi Gru Milano. “The new vehicles will be joining the previously delivered models and will be substituting other more obsolete equipment. Fassi Gru Milano was not only responsible for supplying the cranes, but also for the fitting out of the nine Iveco Daily trucks, one of which is fitted with an aerial platform and one with a simple truck bed only”.

Fassi Gru Milano was created in 2011 as an evolution of the coalition between Hydrocar and Fassi Gru, which began in 2007. Hydrocar is a company founded in 1990 by Mauro Moschi, Piergiulio Trivella and Gabriele Cavalieri, and specialises in the hydraulic sector, thus handling tail lifts and roll-off systems, as well as cranes. Fassi Gru Milano is based in Lainate, on the outskirts of Milan, on the Milano - Laghi motorway, in headquarters with a covered area of 2,500 square metres and an external area of another 8,000 square metres, housing the workshop which fitted out the vehicles for Amiacque. This branch provides assistance and sales services for Fassi cranes for an extensive area which includes the provinces of Milan, Monza and Brianza, Como, Lecco, Varese, Novara and Pavia.

The Fassi Gru Milano headquarters is also the operative base for CRG, the Crane Testing Centre, which provides assistance for Fassi Gru clients in all the relative administration, from the issuing of licences (for which there are special courses and a training centre) to periodical testing and certification of vehicles.

The CAP Group was founded almost ninety years ago, with the aim to “bring water to Milan homes”: it was in fact for this reason that in 1928 a number of municipalities formed the Consorzio per l’Acqua Potabile (Consortium for Drinking Water) for the municipalities of the Seveso basin. The CAP Group is now, in terms of assets, the number one mono-utility company on a national scale, and can say that its mission has been successfully accomplished. Nowadays, the public corporation’s scope is wider: with shares held by Local Organisations, it is the principal company for water service management in the Milan metropolitan area and a number of municipalities in the provinces of Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Varese and Como. It manages the integrated water service for a catchment area of 2 million inhabitants, handles the network and systems and plans and carries out investments, as well as ordinary and extraordinary maintenance work. The CAP Group manages this service according to the model of “in-house providing”, guaranteeing public control of the partner organisations, with full respect for the principles of transparency, responsibility and participation. With its expertise, the company combines public circulation of water resources with managerial organisation capable of overseeing investments and increasing infrastructural knowledge through the use of information technology.

Massucco T. S.r.l. is a Cuneo-based company, specialising in the sale and hire of fork-lift trucks and earth-moving machinery, an enterprise with over 50 years of experience which offers a wide range of machinery, guaranteeing assistance, a spare-parts service and consultancy throughout Italy.
