A double Fork Lift Truck Association nomination for Toyota Material Handling UK

Toyota Material Handling UK has again been shortlisted in the coming FLTA

Annual Awards for Excellence, this year appearing in two of the shortlist

categories Safety and Ergonomics.

In the Safety Category the nomination was received for the year-long safety

campaign - Taking Care with Toyota, whilst the Ergonomics Category has

highlighted the BT Optio L series with smooth operator concept as a possible

candidate for the title.

Taking Care with Toyota has been part of Toyota activity throughout the year

and focuses on three key elements; People, Products & Process, in order to

increase safety in the workplace and decrease the risk of accidents.

The BT Optio L series with smooth operator concept has been shortlisted for

innovative design which aims to provide the best possible working conditions

for operators. This product has already won an iF design award for

innovation earlier this year.

The shortlist was announced earlier this month as judges decided on the

highest quality candidates before opening the decision to the public. The

winner of each category is decided by the voting public and will be

announced on Saturday 16th February 2013 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Tony Wallis, Sales and Marketing Director, Toyota Material Handling UK

commented: "We were really pleased to hear the news that we have been

nominated in the shortlist for not one but two FLTA Awards this year. The

awards are a highlight of the events calendar and as they are voted for by

the materials handling community are a highly thought of achievement for all

suppliers. We are now encouraging as many people as possible to look at the

nominees and cast their vote."

During Forklift Safety Week earlier this year, Toyota Material Handling UK

were also the headline sponsors of the FLTA Safety Conference, 26 September

2012. During the day Tony Dyer, Training Academy Manager gave a presentation

about Toyota Material Handling UK's year of safety Taking Care with Toyota

and how the campaign has been used to promote safe working practices.

Warehouse Product Manager, Mark Peters then gave a presentation on BT Reflex

Shocks fitted as standard which was shortlisted in last year's FLTA Awards.

The FLTA Annual Awards for Excellence are an established and recognised seal

of approval from the industry which have been running for over 15 years.
