A-Plant – Huge opportunities for apprentices as Royal Assent is granted on HS2

A-Plant, the UK’s leading equipment rental company, welcomes the news that Royal Assent has been received for Phase One of HS2, believing it will open the door to world-class careers for generations of apprentices.

Commercial Director at A-Plant, Dave Harris commented, “HS2 is a once in a lifetime civil engineering opportunity, the regeneration benefits of which will be felt not just in London and Birmingham, but up and down the length of the line, with a huge ripple effect across the UK.”

Dave continued, “As well as the actual new infrastructure, HS2 will bring massive opportunities for employment, not just with the major contractors, but also within the supply chain. From the provision of plant and equipment to training people to keep them safe on site, right through to design, catering, logistics and even accommodation.”

“It is National Apprentice Week this week and at the forefront of who will benefit from HS2 are apprentices. As a company on the Top 100 Apprentice Employer List we will be actively recruiting apprentices to join our team and support the building of HS2. Throughout the project there will be opportunities for apprentices to learn, train and develop their skills in order to better progress through company ranks.”

A-Plant was the pioneer for apprenticeships in the construction equipment rental industry, starting the company’s first Apprenticeship Programme back in 2005 and it continues to be one of the most successful and highly valued schemes industry-wide, underlined by the fact that A-Plant received 5,000 applications for its most recent intake in September last year.
