It was another routine day for the team at Ability Handling HQ (or do we mean International Rescue?). That is until the emergency call came in to our hire desk at 13.00hrs, it was a customer and they required our immediate assistance, "Could you get a 3 ton forklift truck to our Barnsley site by 16.00hrs same day?" was the challenge.
A quick check of the hire list confirmed that a unit was available, the only dilemma now was how do we get the unit to Barnsley by 1600 hrs. A call to our ever helpful service department and then to our Truck driver Steve ‘Vergil’ Harrod to see if he would be back in time and I could confidently return the call to Cosalt in Grimsby to confirm that Ability Handling could indeed have a unit on site by 16.00hrs.
The truck was first given its Pre-Hire safety check after which the unit was quickly loaded onto ‘Thunderbird 2’ (our in house transporter) and was safely delivered to site by 15.30hrs.
Now that’s what I call Customer Service… the verdict from Cosalt? F.A.B!
