Access equipment provider ZARGES launches new Sherpascopic work platform

ZARGES, Europe’s largest provider of access equipment, is launching a re-designed Sherpascopic work platform with a host of new and improved features.

Since 2004 the Sherpascopic has become the market leader for height adjustable work platforms. The Working at Height Regulations in 2005 established a requirement for a safe alternative to using ladders and stepladders; the Sherpascopic with its large platform, peripheral guardrails and stabiliser legs provided the ideal solution; becoming the work platform of choice across the UK.

Height adjustment for the new Sherpascopic is based on a gravity latch located at the level of the users hands; replacing the previous ‘twist and lock’ method; the new system is easier to reach and more intuitive to use. The new stabiliser legs feature a telescopic mechanism that allows them to be used on uneven surfaces; when opened the stabilisers face inwards towards the platform thus optimising its stability during use. The new guardrail system includes an automatically closing gate, providing the user with 360° protection from falls.

Now available in 3 sizes, providing a height range from 2.78 to 4.25 metres, each model has been made significantly lighter; the 7 to 9 tread model now weighs 5 kilos less; making the Sherpascopics even easier to handle and transport.

The range of new features has been developed to enhance the performance of the Sherpascopic; users will benefit from a work platform offering greater productivity through quicker set-up time, improved sturdiness, and suited to an even greater range of applications.
