Achilles, global leaders in supplier information management solutions, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Holcim to extend the scope of their supplier information management provision.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Holcim are global producers of cement, aggregates (gravel and sand), concrete and construction-related services. Holcim have a progressive attitude to understanding and managing risk, in particular health and safety.
Holcim has literally thousands of employees from third parties, such as suppliers and transport companies, coming onto its sites. This, combined with the nature of the company’s business, means the risks of accidents and injury are ever present.
Having recognised health and safety as of strategic importance to the company, Achilles will be now be a single portal for managing all their suppliers across Holcim’s locations in Spain, Switzerland, Germany (North and South) and Italy.
The added advantage to Holcim of the partnership with Achilles is they will have visibility of the other areas of potential risk, such as financial, environmental, CSR etc.
"We are delighted to extend our collaboration with Holcim to other countries" commented Luis Olivie, Chief Operating Officer of Achilles. He continued,"One single point of data collection will allow Holcim to implement more efficiency in the procurement process – all buyers will be able to access the same validated, up-to-date and accurate information on a global and local basis."
