AEB (International) Ltd invites to Fourth Annual Compliance Conference

· Tuesday, 22nd October 2013, Mallory Court Hotel, Leamington Spa
· Organised by AEB (International) Ltd in partnership with CILT(UK)

AEB (International) Ltd is inviting supply chain professionals to attend its 4th Annual Compliance Conference, which takes place on Tuesday, 22nd October 2013, at the Mallory Court Hotel in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. Organised in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, CILT(UK), this essential industry event brings together compliance experts from government, global trade consultants and key industry players.

Given the plethora of continually updated national and international global trade rules and restrictions, it has become increasingly challenging for global trading companies to keep an overview and, importantly, to ensure compliance. It’s worth playing by the rules, because violations can result in the withdrawal of export authorisations and special privileges, hefty fines and even prison sentences. Non-compliance can also cause delays at borders and have a negative impact on a company’s overall supply chain performance and reputation.

As conference host and provider of supply chain management and global trade solutions, AEB understands the challenges that forward-looking supply chain managers are facing in today’s competitive and volatile business environment. Titled "Export Control Compliance: Liabilities, Risks and How To Protect Your Business", this year’s programme includes official updates, legal recommendations, consultant’s advice, research results and industry case-studies, designed to help businesses involved in global trade to get up to speed on latest regulatory requirements, challenges, best practices and the implications of non-compliance. Attendees will learn how to best manage regulatory compliance to their businesses’ advantage, identify solutions to maximise both supply chain compliance and efficiency, and engage in valuable exchanges with industry peers.

The following speakers have been confirmed:

. Ben Smith, Associate, Baker & McKenzie
. Sandra Strong, Partner, Strong & Herd LLP
. Paul Bolton, Sales and Dispatch Manager, National Institute for Biological Standards and Control
. Andy Baker, International Logistics & Licensing Manager, Raytheon Systems Ltd
. Ian Stewart, Lead Researcher, King’s College London
. Export Control Organisation – Speaker to follow
. Hannah Beckett, Sales Manager, AEB International Ltd

Claire Umney, AEB’s General Manager, said: "Ensuring compliance with all export control regulations and restrictions can be a challenging and daunting task. Checks for restricted parties, dual-use goods, country embargoes, restricted goods and critical end-use are just a few of the mandatory export control steps that global trading companies need to integrate into their business processes. We want to help them find their way through the regulations and avoid the potential pitfalls of non-compliance. But we also want to demonstrate how companies who manage global trade and customs rules to their advantage and integrate them into their overall strategy, achieve more than just regulatory compliance, they gain a competitive advantage though streamlined processes and overall cost savings. "

Beverages, snacks and a complimentary lunch will be provided. Attendance is free for CILT members, and non-members will be charged a £20 administration fee. Bookings can be made via the CILT(UK) membership services, tel. +44 (0)1536 740 104 or by sending an email to membership@ciltuk.org.uk, mentioning CILT(UK) event code COR0307.
