Aisle-Master Goes Direct

Aisle-Master, the Irish manufacturer of the electric and LPG powered narrow aisle articulated forklift of the same name, is now offering its range directly into the UK market. As part of this new distribution strategy, the company is seeking to establish links with material handling distributors wishing to incorporate its products into their portfolio.

Aisle-Master is already well represented in North America, Australia and Europe, and has more than 300 forklifts operating in the UK in, for example, the DIY, 3rd party logistics, manufacturing and engineering sectors. With the articulated concept now firmly established in the UK, Managing Director Gerry McHugh believes the time is right to take sales operations one-step further. "The fact that the Aisle-Master can increase storage density by 30% to 50% versus reach and counterbalance forklifts respectively, is becoming more and more important as the cost of warehousing continues to rise. The added advantage of being able to use the Aisle-Master both inside and outdoors means product can be taken directly from truck to rack without staging or double handling" says Gerry.

The LP gas version of the Aisle-Master was introduced four years ago and is now well established. The company believes the introduction of the electric version will further enhance its reputation and increase the range of potential applications. A range of trucks are available with lift height options up to 10m and capacity of 2000kgs. Better visibility and speed of operation are also reported as significant benefits.

The pedigree of the Aisle-Master product is impressive as the developers were involved with pioneering work on the Moffet Mounty truck mounted forklift, and the company has more recently been closely allied to another locally based innovation – the Combilift multi-directional forklift.

Due to expansion of both concerns, Aisle-Master will shortly take over the whole of the Clontibret plant with Combilift moving to a new manufacturing facility.

Sales Director Joe O'Brien comments: "We see significant potential for growth in this market due to the constant need to achieve more space and increase storage capacity within existing warehousing facilities. Materials handling suppliers will find the Aisle-Master range of articulated forklifts to be an extremely cost effective and reliable solution for their customers."

Aisle-Master also provides free warehouse layout proposals to determine the increase in storage density which can be achieved for potential customers.
