Fleet operators and vehicle manufacturers discovered cost-saving fleet maintenance measures and new business development opportunities at the first in a series of Allison Transmission 'Awareness' seminars. Limited places are still available for the second seminar, which is taking place in Leeds on 23rd May.
Allison Transmission has begun a seminar tour around the UK to explain how operating Allison-equipped vehicles can help fleet operators and owner drivers to work efficiently, simplify repair and maintenance budgeting, reduce operating costs and improve driver working conditions. Individuals attending the seminars can also learn about how automatic transmissions work and find out how they compare to alternative technologies such as automated manual transmissions (AMTs) and manual gearboxes.
The first seminar, which took place in Bromsgrove, was a great success, with operators from a range of market sectors sharing experiences and learning about Allison fully automatic transmissions. "The 'Awareness' seminar has given me a better understanding of Allison products and the range of services they offer," says Kevin Webb, General Manager Transport, Business Post PLC. Business Post does not currently operate any automatic vehicles but the seminar revealed the potential that automatics could offer the business. "Allison transmissions will be a consideration when I specify vehicles in future," says Webb.
Vehicle manufacturers learned how working with Allison Transmission can bring additional benefits to their customers. Allison offers an Extended Transmission Coverage (ETC) that can be purchased with every transmission, covering all repair and maintenance, including wear and tear. ETC can allow vehicle manufacturers to offer their customers the option of specifying an Allison transmission in their vehicles, with the confidence that all transmission repair and maintenance will be covered by Allison Transmission.
"The Allison Transmission awareness seminar has revealed a new business development opportunity that I previously thought was closed to Keltruck," says Andrew Bentley, General Manager Business Development, Keltruck Limited.
The seminars are being held at convenient locations around the country, including Leeds, Glasgow, Watford and Bristol. If you are interested in attending one of the events please visit www.weshareyourview.com for more information.
