Sakander Mahmood a warehouse operative based at APC Overnight's national sortation centre, Wolverhampton, has been named as the organisation's top employee. He was presented with the Employee of the Year award at the 2009 National Depot meeting by company MD Ivor Skinner. Sakander's positive attitude, commitment and outstanding attendance record swung the decision in making the award.
Sakander joined APC Overnight in June 2002 to work in the general sorting operation before moving to the security area in 2003. He is well respected for his dedication and is always ready to support the management team with running the operation. Following a major restructuring of the security and premium sort operations, he assisted the Supervisor with designing the layout of the new area as well as with organising the sorting team. His interest in IT has also benefited the company in gaining maximum benefit from systems and technology.
Brian McCarthy, National Operations Manager, APC Overnight said Sakander is a credit to the company. His 'can do' attitude and his commitment is second to none and that is why he achieved this accolade. His commitment to the company is demonstrated through his selfless actions and readiness to assist the management and his colleagues, he justly deserves this award."
