AquaWhale set to make a splash at the CV Show

A new combination unit that utilises liquid ring pump technology – the AquaWhale – is set to be unveiled by Whale Tankers at the Commercial Vehicle show at the NEC on 9th-11th April.

The AquaWhale, which has been built for West Country waste specialist Clearflow, joins a fleet of 50 vehicles – predominantly Whale products. Fittingly the debut of the new vehicle follows the launch of Clearflow’s first KaiserWhale at the CV show in 2008 and a further KaiserWhale vehicle purchase in early 2013, which convinced the waste specialist of the benefits of using this technology for "deep lift" work.

Developed, tested and built at Whale’s Solihull headquarters, the AquaWhale has been designed as a multi-purpose unit, giving waste operators a highly flexible machine with great environmental credentials, offering an outstanding whole vehicle life proposition.

Featuring a Kaiser liquid ring pump in the front compartment, the unit requires far less pipework than a conventional machine, thereby increasing system performance and efficiency. As the pump is submerged in a special water compartment, cooling is more effective, with the additional benefit of reduced noise levels. It can operate at lower temperatures too, as the unit is less prone to freezing.

The AquaWhale also features the latest Whale Feedback Remote Control System, as well as being equipped with enhanced storage lockers for ease of operation.

Bobby Eustis, Senior Operations Manager for Clearflow said: "The new AquaWhale gives us a true multipurpose machine, with the flexibility to handle a variety of work such as deep lift, digester cleaning as well as sewer cleaning. And as a Whale product, it comes with the assurance of built-in reliability and in-service support that is vital in our business to minimise machine downtime."

The new AquaWhale is the latest in a succession of market leading products that Whale have produced for Clearflow over the past 20 years.

Whale Tankers’ Managing Director, Mark Warmington, said: "Our AquaWhale for Clearflow is a prime example of how we work closely with our clients to create innovative solutions to fit their specific requirements – one of the reasons why our customers continue to return to Whale when making new fleet investments.

He added: "This year’s CV show is a great opportunity for both existing and prospective customers to find out the latest news on Whale product and support developments."
