Argos, the UK's largest High Street retailer, has awarded a three-year repair and maintenance contract for its fleet of HGVs to leading independent commercial vehicle specialist Pullman.
The contract, which will lead to the creation of at least 12 new positions, sees Pullman deploying nation-wide repair and maintenance solutions for around 1,500 motives and trailers, operating from seven locations spread across the UK, from Glasgow to Somerset.
A network of over 30 service centres and more than 150 mobile service vans makes Pullman the UK's largest independent provider of commercial vehicle maintenance services, a crucial factor for Argos, which has 740 stores across England, Scotland and Wales.
"From the outset we were clear that we required a business partner that had both the scale and capability to provide a national solution delivering common standards across the UK," said Phil Hull, the retailer's distribution director.
"Our values are all about delivering unrivalled value and convenience to our customers, and maximising vehicle on-road time safely will be a key contributor to this.
"Pullman has an exemplary track record in this respect together with a proven reputation for creating efficiencies while delivering excellent customer care."
Recent years have seen Pullman invest heavily in training and leading edge diagnostic equipment, facilitating best in class MOT and "vehicle available" rates.
Pullman's managing director, Graham Hunter, said: "Argos is one of those retailers that can lay genuine claim to being a household name, and with that brand awareness comes an expectation of quality and extremely high service standards.
"For Argos to award this contract to Pullman is, I believe, testament not only to our unrivalled reputation in the commercial vehicle repair and maintenance sector, but also to our commitment to investing in training and technology that keeps us ahead of the field and our customers' vehicles on the road."
He added: "We're looking forward to working with Argos and to delivering industry-leading value to their operations."
