Automatic parcel locker provider is now the biggest in the UK

InPost UK, part of the world’s leading provider of automatic, 24/7 parcel collection locker facilities, now has more than 500 locations across the United Kingdom. This rapid growth, since its launch in April 2013, makes InPost’s national network of automated terminals the largest of its kind in the UK.

The organisation already boasts more than 20,000 locations across Europe, Asia, Africa and America – and is now gaining a significant following in Britain, with both e-retailers and consumers. Informal market research has already generated strong endorsement from the UK public, with praise for the service’s ease of use, speed and 24/7 capability (http://youtu.be/VlNDTelUdqw).

The InPost system, which is ideal for e-commerce, the retail sector, business-to-business applications and other markets where ease of parcel collection is crucial, has seen unprecedented interest in the UK since its inception, particularly in Greater London, with more than 100 facilities inside the M25 area.

Lorna Mushing, estates manager at InPost UK, is delighted with pick-up of the
initiative and commented: "It’s been extremely heartening to see the e-commerce, retail and logistics sectors embracing our unique, robust and highly secure facilities.

"The product delivers real added-value to our client partners, including the ability to offer reverse logistics and returns solutions. Parcel lockers will revolutionise home delivery in the UK – and look set to take off in the same manner as ATM cash machines did in the 80s and 90s."

She added: "24/7 collection holds a massive advantage for the busy consumer. At any time, a customer can collect their parcel – up to 20 kilos – from the local InPost location, eradicating the need to stay at home all day, waiting for a parcel delivery."

Rafal Brzoska, chief executive officer for InPost, added: "For us, the UK marketplace is critical and we are delighted to have gained such a strong following so quickly. We’ve been pleasantly surprised with the significant growth potential that exists for us in the UK, which is one of the more mature e-retail markets in the world.

"We have robust ambitions for the UK marketplace in the next five years and are confident of hitting our targets, given the exemplary service levels we provide to our e-commerce and retail client base, as well as to the end consumer. We are passionate about our offer and, with collection taking just seconds, InPost hopes to become the automatic choice for home delivery in the UK."

InPost plans to complete the roll-out of its UK network of fully automated, 24/7 parcel collection points within the next 12 months, ultimately reaching between 1,500 and 2,000 units.
