B B Enterprises expands with new Doosan Excavator

than the previous Stage IIIA model.

Fantastic Fuel Economy

Contributing to the overall reduction in fuel consumption in the new DX140LC-3 excavator is the improved cooling efficiency and the installation of a new fan clutch with electrically controlled fan speed. Factory tests on the DX140LC-3 model show a reduction of up to 17.5% in fuel consumption, depending on the operating mode selected and the work being undertaken.

This impressive figure is borne out by Dick Bishop. He commented: "The fuel economy on the DX140LC-3 excavator is fantastic - we can work a full three days on just one tank of fuel. The new ECO Gauge on the control panel provides real time monitoring of fuel rate and actual engine-percent load, with 4 working modes and 4 power modes, but the efficient conversion of engine output into hydraulic performance means we haven't needed to take the machine out of the standard economy mode, providing further savings on fuel."

Dozer Blade Option

As well as offering more standard features than other excavators of its size on the market, there is also an expanded choice of options for the DX140LC-3 excavator. The new machine at B.B.Enterprises is based on the standard 2.5 m width undercarriage and monobloc front working equipment, but has been purchased with an optional dozer blade. The dozer forward design, large working angle and reinforced components ensure optimum stability when lifting or while working on sloped terrain.

Dick Bishop added: "The dozer blade is very good for added stability when you are working at maximum heights on buildings and on slopes. We generally bring the blade down at the end of the work as it allows you to clean right up to the machine, speeding up the process of removing hard core into lorries taking it away from site."

Another advantage offered by the DX140LC-3 excavator highlighted by Dick Bishop is the cab. The new ROPS and OPG certified cab offers more comfort, space and visibility, together with new highly responsive joystick controls for precise, proportional control of attachments and increased productivity. A new 7-inch colour high quality visual control console offers an attractive display and excellent functionality. Dick Bishop particularly likes the combination of the screen feed from the standard rear camera and the large side mirrors, which simplifies and increases safety of tasks such as truck loading.

Excellent Return on Investment

The new DX140LC-3 crawler excavator has a more robust undercarriage with reinforced components, including track links, track springs and sprockets. The boom and arm have been strengthened by increasing the metal thickness at critical points and using reinforced bushings. The engine bonnet is split into several parts to improve serviceability, whilst components such as filters, valves and batteries are all within easy reach for service work.

In summary, Dick Bishop said: "Our experience has shown that purchasing Doosan products is always an excellent investment, both in the short term and the long term. But the proof is in the pudding - we believe in looking after our equipment and, with Kellands' help, we have benefited from an excellent return on investment over the lifetime of our machines."

With depots in Bridgwater and Camelford in Cornwall, Kellands (Plant Sales) Ltd is the Authorised Doosan Dealer for Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Devon, Cornwall, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol and Gloucestershire.
