Barclays has supported Chiltern Cold Storage Group Limited (Chiltern) with new lending facilities of £1.3m to enable the company to extend and amalgamate their onsite storage facilities.
Chiltern is a privately owned company, founded in 1993 by Paul Jackson, Managing Director, whose principal activities are temperature controlled logistics, covering both storage and distribution of frozen, chilled and ambient goods.
The primary warehouse site at Peterborough already offers 12,500 pallets of frozen capacity, 1,500 pallets of chill and 4,000 pallets of ambient, but having recently won new contracts, the company has decided to build a 20,000 sq ft ambient storage extension providing an additional 3500 pallet spaces. Designed and constructed by Stepford Construction, this will allow the company to amalgamate all their processing and storage on to one site.
Paul Jackson, Managing Director, Chiltern Cold Storage Group Limited said: "It had long been my ambition to add a purpose built ambient warehouse to the site. For us this is the final piece of the jigsaw giving us complete frozen, chilled and ambient facilities all on one site. We worked closely with Graham Martin of Barclays Corporate Banking and Nick Peters of Stepford Construction to ensure a smooth transition from design, build and completion."
Graham Martin, Relationship Director at Barclays said: "Supported by a strong management team, Chiltern Cold Storage have continued to expand and grow and have recently been awarded major new contracts. The new building works will give the company the flexibility to carry out their business on one main site."
