Barloworld Handling takes the biscuit

Barloworld Handling, the UK's leading supplier of materials handling equipment, has won a contract to supply Scotland's oldest bakery with the latest state-of-the-art fork-lift truck technology which is found in Hyster's groundbreaking Fortens range.

Campbell's Shortbread, based in Perthshire, is Scotland's oldest family- run craft bakery and has been in business for over 180 years. The company produces a wide range of traditional speciality cakes and biscuits including scotch pies, oatcakes, shortbread along with a variety of breads and cakes inspired by different countries around the world

Campbell's Bakery have taken delivery of a brand-new LPG-powered Hyster Fortens H1.6FT-A lift truck, representing an important capital investment from the company's point of view. The power and versatility of the Fortens range will be put to good use as Campbell's plan to employ the new acquisition on a variety of tasks within the bakery. These will include unloading raw materials, stacking racks in the warehouse and loading finished product onto lorries for distribution.

Campbell's chose the Hyster Fortens chiefly because of its user-friendly features which they felt would bring increased productivity through greater operator comfort. One of those features is a unique Hyster development – a swing-out LPG bracket that makes bottle changing so easy and simple. Campbell's described the new Fortens as a 'joy to drive'.
