County Tyres, which supplies a full range of tyres, including car, motorcycle, tractor, industrial and truck tyres, was looking for a trailer which could transport both loose tyres and stillages and offer the flexibility of a curtainsider.
Using its unique Cheetah design to form the basis of the new product Cartwright created a cost-effective, fuel-efficient trailer with four sliding posts per side, with 20 wooden slats – allowing County Tyres the flexibility to load its range as necessary.
Matthew Martin, Group Transport Fleet Manager at County Tyres, commented: "Very often we have to load stillages containing tyres. Sometimes though, with bigger loads, it is better to loose-load using a box trailer. With this in mind, ideally what we were looking for was a cross between a box trailer and a curtainsider so we would have the best of both worlds."
Following a series of discussions specifying necessary requirements Cartwright came back to County Tyres with a suitable design.
Matthew said: "We were delighted with the service from Cartwright and the trailer itself is fantastic. A great British design and British-built and it is an asset for our business.
Bob Pope, Technical Sales Manager at Cartwright, said: "With County Tyres looking to transport tyres all over the country, including from its Bristol HQ to its branch in Falkirk, we chose the Cheetah system in order to reduce the running costs over the high mileages."
