British Airways extends agreement for the transportation of in-flight wines

British Airways has agreed a 3-year renewal of its contract with Kuehne + Nagel for the import of its range of in-flight wines from around the world to the United Kingdom.

The strength of Kuehne + Nagel's global seafreight network was key to

British Airways' decision to continue the partnership, which was

originally formed in 2004. Over more than six years, British Airways has

relied on Kuehne + Nagel for the timely, transparent and cost-effective

transportation of wine to the UK from multiple origins across Europe,

Australia, South Africa and South America.

In addition to renewing the existing contract, British Airways has also

called upon Kuehne + Nagel to manage seafreight exports of its cabin

service supplies from the UK to a distribution centre in Chicago,

IL/USA, and to handle some domestic overland traffic within the UK.

David Hoade, Senior Logistics and Services Manager for British

Airways said, "Kuehne + Nagel has developed an in-depth knowledge

of the supply chain requirements for our in-flight wine offering and, in

particular, has demonstrated an understanding of our specific sea and

overland transport challenges. We are confident that the relationship

will continue to deliver added value to British Airways."

"We are committed to providing continuous improvements and ongoing

efficiencies in our service to British Airways," commented Anthony

Quinn, Senior Vice-President Sales and Marketing of Kuehne + Nagel's

North West Europe region. "We welcome this excellent opportunity to

continue working together and also to reaffirm Kuehne + Nagel's

position as a first choice logistics provider for wines."
