Bromsgrove District Council teams up with Smurfit Kappa Recycling

to introduce five further cardboard and paper banks at sites
across the District, making the reprocessor the sole provider of paper banks
in Bromsgrove. Smurfit Kappa Recycling has been providing the Council with

Cllr. Del Booth said: "Recently we have made some important steps to improve

recycle, the less waste we will create and that has to be a priority for our

Dave Cowing, Smurfit Kappa Recycling’s commercial manager said: "The five
additional sites demonstrate the flexibility of our offering to local
authorities, utilising a mixture of Front End Loader containers, igloos and
a mini-superbank, for the collection of every type of domestic paper and
cardboard. All of the material is recycled at our Birmingham paper mill,
keeping its environmental footprint to a minimum and supporting local
industry, and ultimately used to produce corrugated packaging, vital in
protecting the goods we buy on their journey from farm and factory to shops
and stores."

Rachel Kennett, Bromsgrove District Council’s waste policy and promotion
officer added; "We are pleased to welcome Smurfit Kappa Recycling onto five
additional sites in Bromsgrove. Streamlining our recycling collections makes
sense, helping us to maximise efficiency and minimise waste in addition to
extending paper and cardboard recycling services for local residents."
