Buffaload Logistics has appointed an ‘industry heavyweight’ to oversee national transport operations. John Farley joins the management team from DHL where, as National Operations Manager, he has had responsibility for servicing 1002 outlets for JD Wetherspoons.
With 23 years’ experience in the logistics industry John’s expertise lies mainly in the temperature controlled sector and he has extensive knowledge of transport and warehousing – attributes which exactly match the requirements of Buffaload’s refrigerated double-deck and dry freight operations for leading retailers throughout the UK.
“Buffaload Logistics is fast expanding” says John. “The double-deck fleet has topped the 100 mark and continues to grow in line with strong demand from the 3PL blue chip sector. The company has a solid reputation for efficiency and integrity which I believe underpins their impressive growth record.”
Among other responsibilities, John will assume the role of coordinator for all Buffaload’s national operations and will ensure ongoing synergy between each facet of the business. “Buffaload offers a comprehensive range of logistics services throughout the UK” adds John “and with a business of this size and diversity it is important that we all work in harmony to deliver the high standards associated with the Buffaload name.”
Buffaload’s Managing Director, Julie Feltwell is upbeat regarding the appointment:
“We are delighted to welcome John to the Buffaload team. His undoubted ability, gained over many years as a logistics practitioner for a host of household names, will soon make its mark on our operation. John has particular skills in the food distribution sector which will be an asset to Buffaload and our customers alike.”
Buffaload Logistics, based on a purpose-built 16 acre site in Huntingdon, currently operates a fleet 120 temperature-controlled trailers including 102 temperature controlled double-deckers. The company offers cross-docking and on-site chilled and frozen pallet storage in three locations in England and has recently opened a distribution hub in Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland. From here, Buffaload provides a nationwide chilled consolidation and distribution service for temperature-controlled and ambient loads.
The company has tripled in size over the last three years and intends to double in size again by 2018, to this end; further announcements regarding the development of additional facilities are expected soon.
