C.H. Robinson expands focus in Dutch market

Originally opened in 2012 with a focus on the fast growing temperature controlled transportation segment, the C.H. Robinson office in Rotterdam, The Netherlands has increased it’s offering to incorporate the entire C.H. Robinson road transport service offering portfolio.

Strategically located near the Rotterdam harbor, which plays a key role in the import and export of goods into the continent, the shift allows the Rotterdam office to use its local knowledge to assist global shippers. The shift to providing additional road transport services, where temperature controlled transportation still remains an important offering, provides these global shippers access to the entire continent through one point of contact.

To lead the continued office growth and development, C.H. Robinson has appointed Arjan-Olivir van der Woning as the new Rotterdam branch manager. Beginning his transportation career in 2005 with UPS, van der Woning has held a variety of sales and account management positions with Maersk, Damco and more recently a Dutch transportation provider, De Rijke Logistics.

“Arjan has a wide range of experience in selling and managing customers spread across various industry verticals, including the chemical vertical. There is a large amount of opportunity in the Benelux marketplace,” says Chris Mills, director of European transportation at C.H. Robinson.

Since 1993, C.H. Robinson has built a network of more than 50 offices with over 1,000 employees throughout Europe to become one of the leading transportation and logistics companies in the region. The company has shown its commitment and investment in Europe by recently opening an office in Hamburg, Germany.
