Carbon Capital Markets offsets German author Michael Streck's book on climate change

London - Publishing house Campus Verlag has purchased carbon offsets from Carbon Capital Markets® to help reduce the carbon footprint associated with the production of German author, Michael Streck's latest book, entitled Die Klimaprioritäten, which translated in English is "The Climate Priorities".

Carbon Capital Markets will retire Campus Verlag's purchase of Kyoto compliant carbon credits, known as Certified Emission Reductions (CERs). CERs are quality offsets which meet stringent criteria, and can be sold in the compliance and voluntary offsetting markets. The CERs used have been sourced from a United Nations approved Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) biomass project in Brazil.

Author Michael Streck, said:

"Climate change is here to stay and we must accept the consequences of our actions. By offsetting the production of Die Klimaprioritäten, I am reinforcing the commitment to my readers that offsetting can play a vital role in helping to mitigate and adapt to the environmental challenges posed today. We must look to not just limiting our living emissions but also the emissions which contribute towards our overall carbon footprint."

Carbon Capital Markets is headquartered in London and has a core competency in the management of the entire carbon credit cycle under the Kyoto Protocol, from identifying and managing CDM projects through to trading and efficiently monetising carbon credits on the international markets.
