Cartwright Group makes its debut in Sunday Times Top Track 250

Cartwright Group, the leading UK body and trailer manufacturer and services group, has been placed at number 200 in the Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table of Britain’s fastest growing private mid-market companies having been tipped as a top 10 company to watch last year.

It is a tremendous accolade for the Company, which is this year celebrating its 65th anniversary.

It was Cartwright’s impressive sales performance over the past year, in particular, which led to the company being included in this impressive national league table, with an increase in sales of 11% on the previous year to achieve a turnover of £138.8m, complemented by a growing export business.

Indeed, the Company has enjoyed unprecedented growth over the past three years across all divisions including Manufacturing, Engineering, Rentals, Fleet Services, Finance and Cartwright Conversions as demand for its products and related services is hitting record levels.

Its award-winning apprenticeship scheme, for which Cartwright Group has been named as one of the top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in the UK, has paid dividends as well as its growth in the refrigerated market following an investment last year of £1.8m in a new manufacturing facility at the company’s 38-acre Altrincham site. Employee levels too have virtually doubled from 500 to nearly 1000.

Mark Cartwright, Group Managing Director commented, “To be named by the Sunday Times as one of Britain’s top 250 fastest growing mid-market companies is a huge achievement and one of which I am incredibly proud.

Mark further commented; “It could not however have been achieved without the hard work of our loyal employees, apprentices and the management team. We have come a long way in the past three years – increasing turnover levels from £89m in 2014 to where we are today and this further reinforces our ambitious, but realistic, growth plans as a key player in the transport sector.

“We plan to continue our programme of investment to build a diverse business of related products and services to ensure our customers are able to enjoy a one-stop experience from our rental products, to new build, competitive and flexible finance options through to fleet management and maintenance.”
