Cat Plant powers upgrades with new machines from Finlay Plant Northern

South Yorkshire based Cat Plant is boosting productivity after taking delivery of two new Terex Finlay machines.

Supplied by Finlay Plant Northern, the Barnsley-based company has purchased a new Terex Finlay 693+ Supertrak and a Terex Finlay 694+ Supertrak.

Cat Plant saw the 693+ put through its paces at Hillhead before buying the machine.

They also selected the 694+ Supertrak after being impressed with the potential to power up production with both units.

Now working in conjunction with a crusher, both plant are screening products in a one path formation and delivering major efficiencies.

Founded 35 years ago by Sid Boulton, Cat Plant is now run by son-in-law Ronnie Harrod and operates from a 136-acre limestone quarry site.

Offering plant hire and demolition services as well as running an active landfill, Cat Plant supplies various aggregate products for clients undertaking those industrial and commercial buildings projects, as well as smaller scale house building.

Ronnie Harrod said: “We had the early models of the 693 and 694 from Finlay Plant Northern and have now exchanged these in line with our upgraded fleet.

“They’ve always been reliable and efficient screens and when I bought the Terex Finlay 693+ Supertrak I could see the benefits of the decks and layout, the 694+ just seemed like the natural progression.

“We’re really ramping up productivity now.”

The Terex Finlay 694+ Supertrak and 693+ Supertrak are state-of-the-art tracked mobile inclined screens with best in class production levels, set up time and ease of operation.

At Cat Plant, the Terex Finlay 694+ Supertrack, is screening product at 75mm clean and 40mm while the undersize is fed to the 693+ Supertrack.

The Terex Finlay 693+ Supertrack is then producing 20mm, 10mm, 6mm down to dust. Both plant are together producing up to 900 tonnes a day.

Finlay Plant Northern, which is part of the Finlay Group – which comprises of eleven stand-alone companies offering the most modern and diverse range of material processing equipment – has a long-standing relationship with Cat Plant which extends more than 16 years.

Martin Nairn, of Finlay Plant Northern, said: “These two machines are renowned for their screening accuracy and clean products.
