CeMAT 2016: Fronius repositions the Perfect Charging Division

The cost-optimiser for intralogistics

Fronius will be revealing the new orientation of the Perfect Charging Division for the first time at CeMAT, the world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics (31st May to 3rd June 2016 in Hanover). The Austrian company has grown from a manufacturer of battery charging systems to the global technology leader and expert consultant for everything relating to the charging of traction and starter batteries. With innovative products, custom complete solutions and a comprehensive range of services, Fronius is able to guarantee cost savings for its customers in the intralogistics sector.

Be it for the operation of electrically-powered forklift trucks in intralogistics, or a reliable power supply for starter batteries of vehicles in production plants, showrooms and workshops: Fronius technology ensures maximum availability of your vehicles and a longer service life for batteries in numerous applications around the world. The specialist supports its customers throughout the entire service chain, from analysing the current situation and the savings potential through to the planning, design and commissioning of the optimum charging infrastructure. Fronius also remains on hand to provide maintenance, repair and continuous optimisation services. With the Ri charging process, Fronius is offering the most advanced, most efficient and most gentle charging process for lead acid batteries anywhere in the world. The Austrian expert is also one of the pioneers in developing alternative drive technologies such as the lithium-ion battery and the fuel cell, and has already incorporated future-proof solutions into its portfolio. The clear objective is the sustainable optimisation of the customers’ intralogistics processes, with a reduction in costs as a result. This is the Fronius guarantee.

CeMAT 2016: Fronius repositions the Perfect Charging Division 1

CeMAT visitors can learn about the technology leader’s range of products on Stand L09 in Hall 26. Fronius is expanding the successful Selectiva range to include several new models in the 2 kW and 3 kW power categories. Designed for use with traction batteries with a voltage of 24 or 48 volts and, these battery charging systems – like the rest of the range – are equipped with the innovative Ri charging process. This process minimises overcharging, which otherwise causes a high level of energy loss and heats up the battery with detrimental effects. The user therefore benefits from an extended battery life and increased availability. Fronius has also developed the “Cool Battery Guide Easy” information and management system – a solution for optimum utilisation of the battery pool. A control unit combined with LED strips on each individual battery charging system indicate which battery has been fully charged for the longest, intuitively guiding the user to the correct battery. This ensures that every battery is used equally and has enough time to cool down. Fuel cells developed by Fronius will also be on display on the exhibition stand, as well as lithium-ion solutions. Both systems have huge potential for use as future drive solutions in the intralogistics sector.

Another impressive offering from Fronius is its high-quality consultancy services. Not only does the company offer a suitable solution for every of today’s needs, but it also has an answer to questions arising from trending topics such as the new energy-efficiency laws, green logistics or choosing between diesel and electrically-powered forklift trucks. Equipping standards-compliant battery charging rooms and stations is another area in which Fronius is an expert partner. The specialist supports its customers right from the planning phase and ensures that the systems meet all the necessary requirements, including fire and explosion protection or occupational health and safety. Using the free I-SPoT calculation tool, the company provides its customers with an overview of the ongoing operating costs associated with their forklift truck system. By taking certain parameters into account, such as the number of weekly charging cycles, electricity price, battery capacities and available charging times, Fronius can calculate the potential savings in terms of energy costs and CO2 emissions. This enables the user to significantly and permanently reduce their intralogistics costs.
