When it acquired a manufacturing site at premises in Norfolk, premier natural foods company Hain Celestial needed a construction partner to help it to upgrade facilities and bring a disused area back into service.
Created in April 2006, Hain Celestial UK is a subsidiary of US-based Hain Celestial Group, which is a leader in almost all natural food categories with well-known brands across all countries.
The company bought the former Heinz manufacturing facility in Fakenham and decided to upgrade the site and begin producing a desserts line in addition to the Linda McCartney range of meat-free products.
That is when it called in Chalcroft, whose Food Projects division is at the forefront of the industry.
Using its expertise in cold storage construction, and detailed knowledge of food hygiene and legislative requirements, Chalcroft was able to install blast freezers, a new picking line and industrial ovens, and construct a new mezzanine floor.
As well as being able to refurbish the site, Chalcroft completed the project within budget and within the strict timeframe laid agreed with the client.
David Matwij, Operations Director at Hain Celestial, commented: "The main aim of the project was to make better use of the space within the site so that we could produce a wider range of foods.
"It was essential that the project was completed on time so that it complied with the commercial objectives. Additionally, the new area was up and running with minimal disruption to the existing manufacturing processes."
