The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) celebrated some great achievements by supply chain, passenger transport and planning professionals at this year's sold-out Annual Awards for Excellence. The winners were announced at a prestigious event held at The London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, attended by the Institute's Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, and over 500 guests.
The awards are designed to promote and encourage best practice within logistics and transport. The Princess Royal warmly praised the standard of achievement reached by the winners and runners-up this year. She commented that the record number of entries and high quality of submissions reflected the profession's response to the increasing challenges it faces at present.
The Princess Royal said, 'These awards help remind everyone what an important part logistics and transport plays in our lives, and help contribute to an understanding of the industry'.
She added: 'The awards highlight the Institute's support of individuals and the companies supporting them.'
