The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport's President, Richard Brown CBE FCILT, CEO of Eurostar, has announced that Graeme McFaull FCILT, CE Wincanton, has been nominated as President Elect of the Institute. He will take over the role of President from Richard in May 2009.
Graeme joined Wincanton in 1994 as Finance Director of the Retail Division and subsequently took over as Managing Director. He was promoted to Chief Executive in 2005.
Graeme is a Fellow of the Institute and has been a Vice President since 2003. He also sits on the Board of BestLog, an EU funded initiative to identify and proliferate best practice in the European logistics sector.
Richard Brown says: 'I am pleased that the presidency will be in such excellent hands when I leave the role. I know that my work in raising the profile of passenger transport professionals will be mirrored by Graeme's in further emphasising the importance of the logistics profession.'
He adds: 'It has been a goal of my presidency to have the Institute at the heart of sustainable transport issues, and I know Graeme shares my belief in cutting the carbon footprint of our industry.'
Graeme McFaull says: 'I am delighted and honoured to have been nominated as President Elect of the Institute. I have a hard act to follow in Richard Brown but will work with him to ensure a smooth transition. There are some exciting initiatives running at the moment and I look forward to lending my support in their delivery'.
